In short
- Our server reads your IP address to show it to you. We don't store or log it for this tool.
- The page also asks ipify.org for your IPv4 and IPv6 addresses.
- Browser and device details are read on your device and never sent.
01Your IP address
Every website receives your IP address when you visit it. To show it to you, our server reads your IP address and the approximate location our hosting provider adds to the request, and sends them straight back to your browser. This tool doesn't save them in a database or log.
Our hosting provider may keep standard server logs (including IP addresses) for security for a short time, as described in our Privacy Policy.
02Third-party lookups
To show both your IPv4 and IPv6 addresses, your browser contacts ipify.org (api.ipify.org and api6.ipify.org), which returns your address. ipify receives your IP address as part of that request. See ipify's own privacy information.
If network details are shown, our server looked up your IP address with IPinfo (ipinfo.io) to find the network name. Only the IP address is sent.
03Browser and device details
Browser, operating system, screen size, language, time zone and similar details are read by your browser on the page and shown only to you. They are not sent to us or saved.
04Help form
If you use the “Need help?” form, we receive the details you enter (name, email, optional phone, topic and message) and use them only to reply, as described in our Privacy Policy.
